Big Algernon revisited

Some of you will recognize my name, some will not. For those that do not, nothing I am going to say will interest you.
Much has changed since 2002 when I first visited these forums. A random google search of "abner bob" brought me here and I realized that there are still some who remember what we created all those years ago.
For a troll to be successful on the level of big algernon, there has to be a certain mix of people and personalities. In the case of this forum, it was the overly pompous graphics designers (they know who they are) against a bored teenager with MS paint and too much free time. I would like to think I still have that trolling capacity in me, but honestly, I do not. I have changed a lot in these 12 years. The internet has changed as well. No longer are forums simple text and HTML markup codes.
From time to time, I have tried to find those old topics only to be disappointed. I would love to reread some of the old graphics contests against people like Nick and IDZ, but I have never been able to locate them. Perhaps it is for the best, nostalgia will have to get me through. My 250free account, from which I posted so many graphics, has long since deactivated and taken with it all of my art.
As it is, all that is left are the memories of those years and of that chapter of my life in general. To paraphrase that old poem: Old trolls never die, they just fade away.
This is Big Algernon, saying farewell to those who made all this possible. It was fun while it lasted.
