WUT R U LISTENING 2 NAO?

Post by Mr. T »

Liek teh thread title says... Buckle up mahfackahz:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCXKZCnZ1pU

Funny story, I bought this album from a used CD store a while ago, and the mp3 I made of it skips all to * at the beginning of the song. Because this style of music is so chopped + edited anyways, I thought it was part of the song. So when I re-ripped it a while ago, I realized that there was a little piece of * stuck on the CD. D'OH! Cleaned it and am now listening to the propa version in high-quality.

Sooo... WUT R U LISTENING 2 REIGHT NAO?

I'm not listening to anything right now. But I've always found these threads to be kind of meh after the introduction of last.fm. I mean, I realize that people use these threads to discover new music, but then it should be called "what random * do you recommend" instead of "what are you listening to now."

I posted it because it was my favorite thread back in the day, but that is a valid point about last.fm, here's my profile:

Sooo.... What random * do you recommend? I recommend anything by Luke Vibert, and his pseudonyms Wagon Christ & Plug.

Hahaha, our musical compatibility is very low. I'm not sure that you'd find anything I recommend too interesting. Right now it's just a lot of indie folk. Ingrid Michaelson on repeat.

I am very bad about listening to new things and my playlists have not evolved too much since ten years ago, seriously. Pandora sneaks in some variety for me here and there, but it isn't much.

I'd be willing to listen to anything really, what I listen to casually tends to be whatever I find the most interesting/stimulating for that moment. Right now I'm still listening to Wagon Christ:

I can't decide if this song is straight or * sounding. A friend once asked me if Luke Vibert, the producer, was * or not, and I was just like... I dunno?

I... don't really know how I feel about that song's sexuality.

I have a heavy preference towards lyrical music that I can sing along to. I kind of stopped listening to metal and harder genres because I cannot roar for the life of me.

Haha, not really my cup of tea, unfortunately.

I've had this on repeat constantly the last few months. It's pretty *, probably, because MIKA is pretty * (not even figuratively).

I just downloaded Jeph Jacques' new album. Deathmole - Maede's Army. Then I have The Social Network OST and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo OST in queue after that.

I've been listening to a lot of Obscura's "Omnivium" album lately, as well as Hate Eternal's "Phoenix Amongst The Ashes". Speaking of Obscura, their drummer Hannes Grossman is working with Alex Webster in a crazy instrumental prog-death metal project called Blotted Science. I'd recommend it to anyone even if you aren't into metal. Also, Christian Muenzner, the lead guitarist from Obscura, has a self-titled solo project. The album is called "Timewarp" and the title track has a very Steve Vai inspired sound. It's the shortest track on the album I think, but all of them are equally all over the place. All also instrumental. It's what I'm actually listening to right now. Beyond that, I'm always checking out local music. By local I don't necessarily mean in my area, but bands that haven't made it very big yet. Usually this consists of bands contacting me for tours, and they're generally from all over Canada and sometimes the US.

Don't get me wrong though, metal is the music I generally seek out but I am into pretty much anything. I don't expect people to like my music but I can usually appreciate theirs.
