I remember fanfiction threads and DBZ AMVS. I also remember Chibi Bliss making her own mini forum where 18, Alpha, Amonroth myself and a few others * around.
Also, I remember a thread where everyone explained how they chose their usernames and Kiriska said she had altered a character's name from a book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes so I ended up reading her stuff out of curiosity. <.<
Also, crappy sigs ftw *drowns in the nostalgia*
Let's bring back some fond memories
Re: Let's bring back some fond memories
I have no * idea. I'm neurotic and keep track of everything? I'm a packrat and relatively good luck with recovering hard drives (knock on wood) over the years helps. I have a whole bunch of old crap that I could upload, like the two terrible versions of the website we had on forumlegacy, everything I ever wrote for the RPG (info-wise and RP-wise), all of the maps and images I made for the RPG, a bunch of photos of people (that I collected as reference for those giant group pics), some karaoke mp3s people recorded at some point??, the comic Idz/Trunks3DX did, and some other random *. Like the Word doc for one week's power levels report for the RPG. ...And the full roster of people I recruited into the Gravi Group, wooooooo.I can't believe you still have all that stuff though. Why did you keep a timeline?
SO YEAH. HOARDER MUCH?
Oh, actually, on a sober note, digging through some of this old crap -- dunno if any of you remember Goryu? He was a disabled dude that was really into L'Arc~en~Ciel at the time. He died a few years ago -- like a year or two after he saw L'Arc live at Otakon 2004.
Of all the things why do you remember this. 8|Kiriska said she had altered a character's name from a book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
Ahoy! Web archives. Kioh, that was that kid's username. I got so used to calling him Chicken because that was what Windy called him. x_x

I only remember because it was how I started reading Amelia Atwater-Rhodes =IKiriska wrote:Of all the things why do you remember this. 8|
Re: Let's bring back some fond memories
Well, I guess that isn't a bad thing. I haven't read a lot of her later works, but I do still enjoy her books that I've read and reread.

Woooooooooow. This is godofwar5000. New handle. Feels good to see the forum up and running. I remember the RPG being very huge. But a little lacking on the Good side. >.> Evil and Neutral >> Good

Re: Let's bring back some fond memories
Wow, now that's a big hit of nostalgia there. I remember a lot of those threads. I even vaguely remember that post about the C word and all that terribly offensive * haha. I didn't think anyone would still have that stuff. I used to spam a LOT...
As for people having qualms, I can understand that a lot of people probably put this forum behind them long ago. I can also believe if a lot of forumers didn't see this as a big part of their life. I, like many, didnt have much of a life outside of the internets for the first few years I was a part of this. I made a lot of good friends, and many were interested in DBZ, other animes, or video games. I still have those interests, but they're suppressed due to the fact that I have to earn moneys for the paying of goods and services now. If anyone has the same mentality as I do, this won't just be a passing-in-the-wind "regroup" of old members. I'm sure I could carry on a conversation with most (if not all) of the people here. Not only that, I know there's a lot of topics we could discuss.
I definitely wouldn't have hard feelings towards anyone who simply saw this as catching up, but I think it could be decent in the long-term if those who still had the same interests as they did 5 years ago were to stay. I know Kiri and Lacopra still draw, and I would be remiss if they stopped visiting here without showing off their artwork.

Re: Let's bring back some fond memories
Haha, I think it is weird for me because Legacy was also a big part of my life but I feel that I haven't actually changed much since ten years ago, and everyone else did. I still listen to the same * music and watch a ton of Japanese cartoons and read Japanese comics and attend as many conventions centered around them as possible. And my interest in other things remains relatively limited. Outside of the day job, my life is seriously just... drawing, comics, consuming aforementioned media, and fantarding over it.
Almost everyone that I have kept in touch with from Legacy seems to have moved on past actively partaking, even if they still regard the media with fondness (lookin' at you, Lacopra, Idz, Windy, Dalton), and I have found new communities of people to fantard with as a result. So this is weird?
I dunno.

Meh, some people are fine just the way they are. As long as you are happy, what else matters?

Re: Let's bring back some fond memories
I think there's no reason why growing up has to mean moving on. Of course some people aren't going to find interest in it, but that doesn't mean they aren't just as interesting (or not) to have a conversation with. Watching anime was never a huge part of my life that's for sure. But I still enjoy it. *, my roommate made me sit through every episode of DBZ with him last year. TWICE. It was nostalgic as well . I'm supposed to sit down sometime and vedge on some more anime with another friend. Rest assured I'll let you all know what I watched and what I thought of it.
I think for me I wouldn't mind going on this forum long-term if enough oldies come back and say hi. If new people come out to check it out, then it'd be just like old times! All the vets talking about past forum events and the newbs not knowing what's going on.

Oh, I'm not totally sure this can't last for the long-term, however skeptical I may be. I mean, after all, I am obviously a huge nostalgiafag and already have more posts than any of you (JUST LIKE OLD TIMES, AMIRITE). P:
But as far as attracting newbies, I do think we're going to need to have a better theme than "LOL WE USED TO BE A FORUM TEN YEARS AGO."
